This full-time intensive 4-week course is intended for law students and practising lawyers who work or intend to work in an international legal setting. The course covers a broad range of Legal English topics, with an integrated focus on the TOLES exam.

The course is for students at Higher Intermediate Plus level and above (B2 and above on CEFR)
Course Content
Course participants work on improving all four English skills within a commercial law context, in addition to learning specific legal terminology and how to use it appropriately. Integrated into the course is preparation for TOLES – Test of Legal English Skills. This exam is internationally recognised, and is a step towards reaching the standard of legal English required by employers such as international commercial law firms, in-house legal teams in private companies and top-class translators. In addition, participants are expected to improve their core study skills through up to 2 hours of focused self-study each evening set by their tutors to meet their needs.
The course includes a visit to the Royal Courts of Justice, London. The main focus of the course is on commercial law, with particular emphasis on company law and contracts.
